Design Aspects Of The 32" LCD TVs
Styling
|
Looks are very personal and subjective, but I'm gonna give it a shot anyway. The Sammy is the king of the hill here. It's completely covered in gloss black and while you may argue that it's not very practical because it attracts dust, fingerprint and scratches, it is proof that you can have style on a budget.
The Toshiba is also top here because it's at the conservative end of elegant styling with its matte black frame. It also has a funky boomerang stand, which is probably the most attention any stand has ever got from TV designers.
The LXD70 looks a little clunky in my opinion, with the widest side profile to screen size ratio I've seen yet. The silver strip also looks a little out of place. That said, I suspect potential buyers aren't going to place a lot of emphasis on aesthetics when they're looking at this TV.
Connectivity
|
The Samsung packs a complete set of connections, with 3 enviable HDMI inputs and digital outs. Unfortunately, the HDMI input is limited to 1080i, which is currently the standard output for most players.
With advertised 24 fps compatibility, the Toshiba will catch anyone's attention looking for the 24 Hz support, although very few devices will actually output this at the present. It's got digital audio and subwoofer output, but only 2 HDMI.
