Both remote controls are not universal, so don't expect to run your whole home theatre setup on these. The Pioneer had easier input selects on the remote control but I didn't think it did enough to walk away with the top spot.

There is not a whole lot of difference between the two menu systems but the Pioneer edges past the Sony with on-screen help and a wider range of picture adjustments for ultimate control and flexibility.

Where is the caption summary and preview screen? The latest EPG makes channel flipping easier and more purposeful, but both these sets have some way to go. The Sony's blurry EPG makes me want to leave the menu as soon as I get into it.
