Blank concept by Chris Kujawski

This is the new, radical OLED phone concept by Chris Kujawski. Basically the phone is completely covered by the OLED display and operated via touchscreen. Some technologists have wondered if this is what iPhone should have been. OLED technology promises to bring rich colours, high contrast ratio and low power consumption on a very thin frame; the ideal display for portable devices. Although it is currently expensive, it won’t be too long before it ends up in your home. Think mobile phones, TV, photo frames, watches, e-paper etc.

  1. Sony and Samsung are commited to OLED HDTV and are looking to 2008 for the first sets to go on the market followed no doubt by those of the other big players soon afterwards. Surely OLED is the future, and not too distant future at that. This must make a “future-proofing” LCD 1080p pannel purchase at this time a rather expensive bet on the wrong horse.

Could you do a feature on the current state of play and prediction for the future of OLED telly please?
