LE40M86BD As Cheap As £999.90

Just came across a time-sensitive deal that can let you buy the recently reviewed Samsung LE40M86BD for as low as £999.90. Here’s how:

  1. Dixons have just lowered the price of their Samsung LE40M86BD to £1161.00 including free delivery presumably as a result of a price match with one of their competitors
  2. After adding the TV to your basket, entering voucher code 50APR07 at the basket page will give you a further £50 discount, making the price £1111.00
  3. If you have an Egg credit card, you can instantly get a further 10% off due to a promotion Egg is doing with Dixons between 13 and 17 April 2007, as illustrated:

  5. After all the discounts, the final price would be £999.90!

Remember, the Egg 10% discount ends today so you’ll probably need to act quickly to take advantage of this offer.

  1. Suspiciously unavailable to my area unfortunately :(

  2. Says the same for me… But!

If you go to the product details then buy, it lets you add it to your cart and proceed without asking you for a postcode. Strange.

  3. I was also unable to proceed and I am based in Slough.

  4. As of last week Dixons, only had three 1080p LCD on their supply list and only the Sony and Sharp were available, I know because I actually placed an order for a LE40F71BD, but was phoned up and spoke at length to Sales person, who said Dixons were not able to suppy the Samsung.

  5. If you order out of hours late at night, the Dixons stock checker seems to be off, and you can order anything on the site.

A day or two later someone phones up and says no stock, no date to get it, we are cancelling your order…..

  6. I ordered this last night as soon as I got home and dug out the old Egg card. Order went through ok, but having just read George’s post, I’ve checked on their site again and it does now say out of stock for my postcode :( I guess I can expect a call in a day or two to say I won’t be getting my TV.

  7. Suppose I must be one of the lucky ones. I am cancelling my order for a 40M87 from elsewhere as I ordered the 40M86 yesterday from Dixons. I was lucky in that I had a 10% discount voucher from a previous PS3 purchase from them and with the Egg 10% cashback I’ll be looking at around £940 now for the 40M86.
I’ve had my confirmation of delivery as well !!!

  8. After reading this article, i clearly see some advantages in Samsung M86 over 40W2000 already with lesser buzzing, Three HDMI 1.3 ports, all capable of 1:1 mapping without overscan, Picture-in-picture function that can enable audio on daughter window, no clouding.

But how about sound comparison etc…

I would really like hdtv review to publish some comparisons between M86 and W2000!!!

  9. Dear Vincent,

Could you confirm, whether 1080p is possible over VGA, as i called Samsung and they said not (1080i over component and 768p over VGA).
My M86 is being delivered today.
Your review was a huge help in making the decision on this tricky subject!

    Many thanks
