Samsung LE40M87BD Stock Level

le40m87bdx

Phoned around a few online merchants to order the new Samsung LE40M87BD for review purposes, and here are the results:

Merchant Expected In Stock Price
24 Electric "End of next week" £1093.24
BE Direct "3 weeks’ time" £1181.99

If you can’t wait that long, Dixons have the Samsung LE40M86BD in stock for £1299.99… and you get a further £50 discount by entering the voucher code 50APR07 on the basket page, making the final price £1249.99.

According to Samsung, LE40M86BD and LE40M87BD both have the same technical specifications… the only thing different is the styling: the M86 sports a black/blue strip under the panel; and the M87, a silver strip.

  1. This online merchant is displaying the M87 In Stock:

  2. Cant wait to see the review on this new model from Samsung LE40M87BD.
Good thing coming out of this release is that the existing top end model prices should take a dive sooner or later :)

  3. Me too, can’t wait to see a review on this set, really glad you are doing one.
It will definitely help me make a decision on whether it is the right television for me or not!

  4. TribalUK and 24Electric are the same company (they have the same address and website design anyway), yet they sell this telly at different prices and with different delivery estimates. Suspicious?

  5. Is there a dfference between the LE40M87BD verision and the LE40M87BDX version of this TV?

  6. I just had an email from robertwhyteltd.co.uk, and they say stock will be arriving on Wednesday 11th April, just in case you are interested!

Hi Gab, We’ve cancelled our order from 1stav and going to go with robertwhyte once the review is out due to their 5 year warranty. Can’t find anything about a bdx version on samsungs website, just bd version so probably the same tv.

  8. Hey Mike,

thanks for the update, seen however a site that does this tv quite cheap abd they have it in stock:

    cheapelectricals.co.uk/acatalog/Samsung_LE40M87BDX_40_LCD_Television_HD_Ready.html

has anyone used them before? 5 year warranty sounds good though with robertwhyteltd.

  9. Yes 5 year warrenty sounds good but where are the terms and conditions, also bear in mind theres a £45 delivery charge!

    Try http://www.1staudiovisual.co.uk the m87 IS £1108.00!

  10. Ive found that most warrenties offered are in actual fact not worth the paper their printed on , most dont cover you for anything and even charge you for all expenses, such as call outs, delivery, collection , surely these expenses are what your paying for?.

I may wait and buy from currys and get their pay monthly cover as ive used it before and it proved very usefull when things went wrong, however they still havnt got the LE40M87BD in stock!

I eagerly await this review!,i may purchase from http://www.1staudiovisual.co.uk as i can still buy an extended warrenty at a later date and they offer one of the best prices. Not forgetting they come highly recommended and have good customer reviews on the av forums.

Need help where the best place to buy this from!? i hate buying expensive things such as this online sometimes!!

  11. P.s for those worried about warrenties, save yourself money and buy your extended warrenties/insurane cover seperate and save a fortune!

I recommend domestic and general, these are the same people who pay currys, dixons and other retailers to make you buy their extended and overpriced warrenties.

However if you buy cover direct from D&G you get it very cheap!

  12. Hmmm…I had massive problems with D&G (I used to swear by them), I also had their customer services people hang up on me, leave me on hold etc etc. I don’t know if things have changed (this was about 2-3 years ago) but it was terrible service for £300. Also as far as I knew DSG did their own warranty repairs…not used DSG (but again this may have changed). Personally I wouldn’t bother, I myself will resort to the sales of goods act if I need to.

  13. Ordered one of these from Dixons on 17th April with standard delivery scheduled for Monday 22nd. 2 days after order girl from DIxons calls to say all the stock is sold and I’ll have to go on forward order. Am told to call on Thursday as stock isn’t coming in. Call but no dice. Asl if somebody from call centre could call me when stock comes in. No dice, there is no such thing as an outgoing call centre at Dixons.

Call Dixons three times on Friday, get disconnected etc etc. Even offer to collect from distribution centre (Perivale) but that’s not allowed any more. Ask why online record says my order has been cancelled (“Nah, that just means the computer screwed up and the order had to be entered manually”).

Finally a chap at the calle centre says some have come in late Friday and I should call them very first thing Saturday morning to arrange delivery (can’t do it on Friday because system updates overnight.

Call at 9.01 am in the morning. “Sorry, they’ve all gone – we should have some coming in on the 27th so we’ll be able to arrange delivery a few days after that.”

Order is swiftly cancelled, Dixons placed on list of ‘web-retailers to avoid at all cost in the future’. Why do I get the feeling that those opting for priority delivery go to the front of the queue while those who don’t are put at the end… truly shoddy e-tailer.

  14. Hi does anyone know when this TV (M87) will be available in Currys or Dixons. I cant seem to find it online for either store! Will they ever have it?

  15. i got one delivered from dixons today
    1025 delivered.

  16. ZAK: you got the Samsung M87 from dixons, NOT the m86…..?
