The broadcaster announced it intends to stream both finals via its BT Sport website, on the BT Sport YouTube channel, and also on its BT Sport App that runs on devices including Apple TVs, Samsung TVs and the Xbox One.

For BT Sport App viewers there’s an extra bonus, as both matches will also be available to watch in VR360 mode on smartphones and tablets. They’ll also be able to choose between its official broadcast, or select their own camera viewpoint for the matches.

Meanwhile for paying customers, BT says it’s also making the Champions League final available in High Dynamic Range format, providing a higher level of contrast between light and dark images on the screen to create a much more realistic image, on the BT Sport app. The availability of HDR comes ahead of BT Sport’s plan to launch 4K HDR on its platforms later in the year.

The broadcaster’s live coverage of the Europa League final begins at 6 pm on May 28 on BT Sport 1 with a preview show, with the match itself being hosted on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport 4K from 6.30 pm.

The Champions League final meanwhile, kicks off at 6 pm on June 1, with coverage available on Bt Sport 2 and BT Sport 4K.

“We want to make BT a company that exceeds our customers’ expectations and does a brilliant job for the country,” said BT Sports’ chief executive officer of Consumer Brands, Marc Allera. “With both European finals being all-British affairs, we’re going to make them easier to watch for everyone in the UK than ever before as well as being the best-connected football viewing experience our customers have ever had.”
