The PlayStation Remote Play feature developed by Sony is now available on its flagship Bravia XR A95L QD-OLED TV through a new application that has been rolled out on the Android and Google TV platforms.

The feature is also available for other Android TV and Google TV devices running version 12 or later, including the Chromecast with Google TV dongle.

Sony said the PS Remote Play feature has the ability to enable remote gameplay access from user’s PlayStation 5 and PS4 consoles, regardless of its location. So long as your Sony A95L TV or another compatible device is connected to the web, it can access the power of your PlayStation console and enable you to play your favorite games, without it being physically present.

For PS4 and PS5 gamers, it opens the doors to numerous possibilities, enabling them to pick up where they left off on any game, even when they’re away from home.

According to Sony, the Sony A95L TV is one of the world’s first Android TVs to benefit from the PS Remote Play feature, meaning it becomes the gateway to a superior gaming journey that will immerse players in breathtaking graphics and captivating gameplay along with crystal clear sound, seen through a dazzling QD-OLED display.

Sony said players will benefit from incredible graphics and smooth gameplay enabled by the A95L’s updated Cognitive Processor XRTM, with new XR Clear Image technology that helps to reduce noise and improve motion clarity, leading to less blur and enabling the busiest scenes without any disturbance or jittering. It also boasts features such as Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, which help to optimise the picture quality for game streaming. Meanwhile, the dedicated Game Menu allows players to quickly access all of the relevant settings for gaming, switching on or off VRR or Motion Blur Reduction more easily. There’s also a new Black Equalizer function that increases the brightness in dark areas, so players can spot their opponents more easily.

To take advantage of PS Remote Play, players will need to ensure their PS4 or PS5 at home is switched on and connected to the internet, as this is not a traditional cloud-based game streaming service. You’ll also need a PS controller with Bluetooth connectivity to play.

Other Android 12-based devices that support PS Remote Play include Philips’ 2023 Google TVs and the TCL C805, C955 and XX955 Google TVs.
