LG Electronics is touting what looks to be a supremely tempting deal, saying it will give the first 50 buyers of one of its new CineBeam laser projectors an Xbox Series S console free of charge.

After all, what point is there in buying a new, high-powered projector if you’re not going to play the latest and greatest video games on it?

The deal is valid for two projector models, the LG CineBeam HU715Q 4K UHD Laser UST Projector and the LG CineBeam HU710P 4K UHD Hybrid Home Cinema Projector.

The two models were launched last month. The CineBeam Hu715Q 4K is a snazzy ultra short throw projector, meaning that it can throw up a massive image on any wall or screen from just a few inches away. LG says it will generate a 120-inch image with 4K resolution and HDR quality no problem, with its adaptive brightness capabilities ensuring it works well even in the daytime, as it will adjust for the ambient lighting conditions.

Other features include support for Apple’s AirPlay 2 standard, and a premium fabric cover made by the Danish textile firm Kvadrat. It also boasts a punchy sound system too, with four built-in speakers in a 2.2-channel configuration that can expand to a surround sound setup by adding one or more Bluetooth speakers into the mix. The sound system is rated at 20 watts, four times as powerful as the LG HU85LA UST projector that the HU715Q is intended to replace. There are three HDMI ports, one of which supports eARC.

As for the Cinebeam HU710P, this is also a 4K HDR projector though it doesn’t have the ultra short throw capabilities. Rather, it’s in the more traditional style, which means it needs to be placed at the opposite end of the room to the screen it projects its image on. It also lacks the same powerful sound system as the above model. That said, it makes up for that with the enormous image it’s capable of creating, up to 300-inches if you’re wall is big enough to support it.

As for the freebie Xbox Series S, we should note that this is the entry-level console and not the more powerful Xbox Series X. So it lacks the disc drive, 4K resolution graphics, is slightly less powerful and has less on-board memory. That said, it’s still a terrific console in many respects with access to all the same Game Pass titles and fast-loading features of the Series X.

Those who intend to rush out and embrace this limited edition offer from LG should beware though. The projects are both big-ticket products, with the CineBeam Hu715Q 4K priced at £2,999, and the Cinebeam HU710P only slightly cheaper at £2,499.

If that’s a price you’re willing to pay, you’ll need to hurry to ensure you do actually get one of the consoles. LG said it will only give them to the first 50 buyers, and they only have until April 25 to take advantage of the offer. You must also prove you’re a U.K. resident. So if you only happen to be visiting these shores for a short while, you’ll be out of luck.

LG said the LG CineBeam HU715Q 4K and LG CineBeam HU710P projectors are available to buy now, direct through its website or from Currys and AO.com. First time customers with LG who sign up for the LG Members club will also receive 5% off, in addition to an Xbox Series S console.
