LG Electronics’ long-awaited 48-inch OLED television is finally coming to the U.K., and will be available to buy for £1,399 and £1,499 at Appliances Direct and Currys PC World, respectively.

The LG OLED CX is one of only two 48-inch OLED TVs that are set to launch in 2020, with the other being Sony’s KD-48A9BU, which is expected to be priced at £1,699.

In addition, the LG OLED CX will also be available in 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch sizes.

The LG CX OLED range is powered by the company’s next-generation Alpha 9 Gen 3 Intelligent Processor and supports Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10 and the HLG high dynamic range formats. It also supports the all-new Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos sound formats. Filmmaker Mode is also featured in the TVs.

LG is also highlighting the TV’s gaming features, which are said to elevate the gaming experience with upcoming games consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, which are set to be released later in the year. The LG CX sports three different VRR features, including HDMI VRR, AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync, and comes with four HDMI 2.1 ports that enable 4K 120 frames per second video and gaming.

“LG’s 48-inch CX OLED TV supports a variety of popular HDR formats such as dynamic HDR10 and Dolby Vision at up to 120 frames per second for 4K UHD content, taking advantage of advanced HDMI specifications such as auto low latency mode (ALLM), enhanced audio return channel (eARC) and variable refresh rate (VRR). LG’s 2020 OLED TVs support HDMI VRR, making them compatible with a wide variety of gaming devices such as graphics cards and consoles," the company said.

The company said the TVs are available to pre-order now, with delivery expected in June.
