German TV brand Loewe has announced its latest TVs, the bild c, available in 43-inch and 32-inch versions. The company stresses their small frame is meant to “delight not dominate”, with a compact design that blends into a contemporary lifestyle.
The bild c TV has a more subtle and streamlined design than some of the company’s other recent models, like the bild i. It sports softer edges, a reflective chrome frame and hidden cables, and Loewe says this has the effect of making the TV appear to “float” when it’s hung on a wall.
The bild c is clearly part of the company’s effort to re-establish itself as a contender in the premium TV market, but whether or not the specs will be enough to win consumers over remains to be seen. The larger bild c comes with a 4K Edge-LED panel while the smaller variant has a 2K Edge-LED panel, which we assume means Full HD. Both models support Dolby Vision plus HDR, HDR10, HLG and WCG for crisp visuals and enhanced colours, while Dolby Atmos is on board to ensure spacious sound effects. The TV includes a built-in soundbar with front-firing speakers, a bass reflex box and 60 watts of sound output, while Dolby Digital Plus and DTS HD are also supported. Bluetooth is also available, allowing the bild c to receive music from another device.
The 43-inch model sports four HDMI 2.1 ports while the 32-inch version has just three, but there’s no mention of which (if any) advanced gaming features are supported. They run Loewe’s os7 operating system and have features including voice control, ambient brightness control and adaptive contrast.
It’ll be interesting to see how they fare because neither of the TVs is particularly cheap given their compact size. The 43-inch model starts at £1,499, while the smaller one costs £1,299.
