Just ahead of the Christmas holiday season, Philips has announced the first LCD-based monitor in its Evnia gaming lineup. It’s called the Philips Evnia 32M2C5500W, and it’s designed to deliver speed, immersion and comfort, bundled in an affordable price tag, to gaming enthusiasts.

“The Philips Evnia 32M2C5500W combines the speed, graphic performance, and physical comfort that today’s gamers are looking for, all in a single beautifully designed package that is certain to bring hours of enjoyment to its users,” said Xeni Bairaktari, Head of Global Marketing and Deputy Director Marketing EU at Philips/AOC Monitors & IT Accessories. “This monitor will make an ideal gift for your favourite gamer.”

According to Philips, the Evnia 32M2C5500W is capable of delivering swift, colourful and action-packed gaming experiences with minimal disruption. Featuring a 1000R curved VA display, it offers wide viewing angles and a more immersive sensation that promises to enhance the gamer’s overall experiences. The Quad HD resolution promises crystal-clear image clarity, together with rich colours thanks to its 92% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display has also achieved VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification that illustrates its ability to generate deeper and more realistic detail.

Besides the visual capabilities, it’s the speed and precision that Philips says will deliver such an exhilarating experience for gamers. The Evnia 32M2C5500W boasts an ultra-fast 240Hz response rate combined with low input lag and support for FreeSync Premium Pro. The rated 0.5ms MPRT fast Response Time suggests uninterrupted, super-smooth gameplay with no lagging or ghosting.

Additionally, the monitor offers an sRGB mode for color-accurate work, a LowBlue Mode to reduce eye strain, and an EasyRead mode for comfortable on-screen reading. Meanwhile, the EasySelect feature allows users to effortlessly navigate through on-screen menus, reducing eyestrain. This, the company said, is made possible with LowBlue mode and Flicker-Free technology. The Compact Ergo Base offers tilt, swivel, and height-adjustment capabilities, ensuring hours of comfortable viewing.

For connectivity, the Evnia 32M2C5500W comes with a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 slots, a USB 3.2 hub with four ports available, including fast charging, a USB-B upstream port, a single audio out and a sync input port.

Philips launched its Evnia gaming brand in 2022, focused on a range of monitors and other gadgets that are dedicated to video gamers, including specialist gaming mice, keyboards and headsets. One of the first products in the Evnia lineup was the Evnia 8000 series QD-OLED monitor, featuring its unique Ambiglow technology to create a more immersive experience.

The Evnia 32M2C5500W does not have Ambiglow, but as the first LCD display in the range, it is available at a much more accessible price point, costing just £429.99 in the U.K. and €549 in Europe. The company didn’t reveal an exact launch date, but said it will go on sale by the end of the month.
