Samsung Electronics has announced yet another tempting offer on its 2020 8K QLED TV range, teasing buyers with a freebie Galaxy S20 smartphone or up to £400 cashback with each purchase.
The promotion covers all four Samsung 8K QLED TVs launched this year, including its flagship 85-inch Q950TS, and its more affordable Q700T, Q800T, Q900TS models.
The Samsung Q950TS QLED TV, which costs £11,999, dazzled audiences when it first appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year, featuring a stunning “Infinity design” that all but eliminates the bezel except for a thin strip at the bottom.
With its bezel-free design, Samsung claims the Q950TS QLED television is “99% screen” and offers “outstanding immersion” that simply wasn’t possible before. Moreover, the screen itself measures just 15mm thick, even though it houses a full array local dimming LED system behind the LCD panel.
The Q950TS went on sale in the U.K. in May, when Samsung revealed its full specifications and a list of premium features that includes its Tizen operating system with support for apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, a single HDMI 2.1 port and optional HDMI 2.1 features, support for HDR10+ and Apple AirPlay 2. The Q950TS was one of several Samsung TVs that saw its price reduced by 10% for a time-limited period earlier this year.
Samsung said that anyone who purchases one of its 8K TVs will be entitled to a free Galaxy S20 smartphone, though the exact specifications of the device will be determined by which model TV they buy. The same goes for the level of the cashback offer, which is meant for customers who already own a Galaxy S20 phone.
Samsung said the deal should be enticing as its Galaxy S20 phone is designed to be paired with its 8K TVs, providing “perfect synergy for capture and playback of 8K video shot on the S20”.
The promotion began yesterday and runs until September 22 at participating retailers in the U.K. and Ireland, including Dixons, Harrods & Selfridges, Hughes and Richer Sounds. The offer is also available when buying from Samsung directly via its online store.
Samsung said buyers will be able to claim their free smartphone within 30 days of their purchase via its redemption website.
