Blazing fast gaming monitors are all the rage, increasingly viewed as essential by professional gamers, for whom even split second latency can make the difference between victory or despair.
That explains why rapid refresh rates are one of the headline features of BenQ’s trio of new, high-end QD-OLED gaming monitors, announced earlier this week.
The company says its MOBIUZ EX Series gaming monitors will be its flagship PC displays for 2026, and that they’re set to launch in the first quarter, just after Christmas.
They include the BenQ 27-inch EX271UZ, the 32-inch EX321UZ and 27-inch EX271QZ, and they feature either 4K or 1440p resolution, depending on the aspect ratio of the display.
All three are using Samsung Display’s most advanced QD-OLED panel and they support super-fast refresh rates of up to 540Hz, combined with an incredible colour range that spans 99% of the DCI-P3 spectrum, the company said. There’s also select support for Adobe RGB, and the company is claiming “ultra-low response times” of just 0.03 milliseconds, along with support for AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro VRR.
These specifications should make them ideal displays for any serious gamer, delivering exceptional picture quality and almost unprecedented responsiveness, ensuring that gameplay will be free of blurs and tearing, even in the most intense, action-packed moments when there are hundreds of separate elements all moving on-screen.
The EX271UZ is the fastest of the free, with a refresh rate that climbs to 540Hz, as opposed to the usual 500Hz that’s normally associated with Samsung’s latest QD-OLED panel. That suggests that BenQ has performed some optimisations to crank up its responsiveness beyond what Samsung has created.
BenQ said the EX321UZ comes with a DisplayPort 2.1 connection that has 80Gbps of bandwidth to support 4K resolution gaming at 240Hz, or 1080p at 500Hz. In contrast, the EX271UZ only has a DisplayPort 1.4 connector, though its HDMI 2.1 port means it can also render 4K content at 240Hz, dropping to 1080p at 540Hz.
Unusually, BenQ has already announced prices for the new displays, even though they won’t be sold in shops until next year. The 27-inch EX271UZ will launch in the first quarter with a price tag of $1,000 (around ₤740), while the 32-inch EX321UZ will cost $1,300 (around ₤960), and the EX271QZ will be the most affordable of the three, priced at $900 (approximately ₤665).
Pricing and availability is for the U.S. market only. They’ll launch in the U.K. next year too, but as to when and how much they’ll cost, we don’t yet know.
