LG's W6 OLED 'Wallpaper" TV now on sale in the U.K.

LG Electronics has not one, but two flagship OLED TVs in its lineup this year, with the iconic G-series model being joined by the new W-series “wallpaper” television, which is launching in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes.

In terms of specifications, there’s basically no difference between the LG G6 OLED TV and the LG W6 OLED TV. To understand what sets them apart, you have to consider why it has been labeled a “wallpaper” TV. It has a wireless box and a slimmer design, measuring just 9.9 millimetres thick, and so of course it’s designed to be mounted on a wall rather than standing on the floor.

The LG W6 OLED is the first wallpaper TV from LG since the company birthed the concept in 2017 with the original LG Signature OLED W7, which was even thinner and had to be professionally installed using magnets. Fortunately, it should be possible for most people to hang it on the wall themselves, so long as they have a buddy or someone else available to give them a hand. It’s equipped with hinges on the back, so all that’s required is to install the wall mount correctly, and then slot it into position and you’re good to go.

We first saw the LG W6 at CES 2026 in January. Aside from the wireless connection box, it’s identical to the G6, with the same second-generation, four-stack Tandem WOLED panel and processor. So in other words, the picture quality is guaranteed to be every bit as good as the G6, which certainly impressed Vincent Teoh in his review earlier this summer:

As with the G6, the W6 has a 165Hz refresh rate and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos surround sound. You’ll find the webOS platform, of course, and there are four HDMI 2.1 ports along with Google Cast and AirPlay 2 functionality. The TV also supports Dolby FlexConnect, which means it’s possible to hook up compatible wireless speakers for a better audio experience.

Because the W6 is a wallpaper TV, it also has an art mode capability similar to Samsung’s iconic The Frame series, allowing it to double as a kind of digital art frame when it’s in standby mode.

The W6 went on sale in the U.S. a couple of months ago, and it’s now coming to the U.K., Europe and other global markets. It’s going to cost more than the G6, with the 77-inch model starting at £4,199, and the 83-incher going for £5,799, according to Pricerunner. The G6, in contrast, is being sold for £3,649 and £5,249 in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, respectively. So it’s only a tad more expensive.
