Samsung TVs get more live sports with SQUASH TV app

Samsung says it’s getting another sports exclusive with the launch of the official SQUASHTV application on all of its smart TVs, adding to a growing lineup of sports-themed apps it has added this year.

Samsung’s sports catalogue has expanded significantly this year, with the arrival of the FloSports app in the U.S. and RugbyPass on TV Plus in the U.K. and the U.S., offering hours of entertainment, and now SQUASHTV becomes the latest addition.

SQUASHTV is the official application of the Professional Squash Association or PSA, and it’s launching globally on Samsung TVs, providing access to live and on-demand coverage of more than 2,000 matches from over 35 recent PSA Squash Tour events set to take place over the 2025/26 season.

The app doesn’t just provide live coverage of the matches, though, for it also shows extended highlights and expert analysis, as well as featured programmes such as podcasts and interviews with some of the biggest stars in the professional squash world. These provide fans with a behind-the-scenes look at their favourite player’s lives as they prepare for matches, while others explore their stories and how they first got into squash, Samsung said.

Dan Harvie, who is vice president of TV at Samsung U.K. and Ireland, said the app will make a great addition to the company’s growing range of value-added services. “By enabling free access to live sports such as squash, American football, rugby, wrestling and women’s football, we are providing customers with the option to personalise their sporting preferences, delivering extra value alongside a premium viewing experience,” he said.

PSA Chief Commercial Officer Tommy Berden said SQUASHTV’s launch on Samsung’s TVs is an “important step” for the sport as it looks to expand its digital footprint and showcase its most incredible athletes and premier tournaments. He said the app makes it “easier than ever for fans around the world to enjoy world-class squash from the comfort of their homes.”

Samsung said it’s celebrating the launch of SQUASHTV with a limited time offer for anyone in the U.K. or Ireland who buys a new Samsung TV. The app is being bundled with the company’s broader “Made for U.K.” offer, with three months of free access to all of its premium content. As part of that offer, buyers will also get free, limited-time access to Rakuten rental vouchers, premium content from Channel 4+ and an Xbox Game Pass.

Anyone in need of a new TV may want to move soon, as many of Samsung’s TVs (and those from other brands) are heavily discounted right now with the Black Friday offers in full swing.
