Samsung Electronics has joined the super-sized Mini-LED party, launching its biggest Neo QLED TV yet in the shape of the 115-inch QN90F.
Designed to provide a “mind-blowing cinematic experience” at home, the 115-inch QN90F is Samsung’s answer to the likes of Hisense, TCL and Konka, which have launched a string of 100-inch-plus sized TVs over the last year. Enormous TVs are all the rage these days, apparently, with one study showing the sales of televisions measuring 98-inches and more increased 148% in 2024, and are likely to rise again this year.
One of the major advantages of Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs are that they’re extremely bright, far surpassing what any OLED TV can achieve, even the very best new Primary Tandem RGG WOLED and QD-OLED displays released this year, which achieve no more than 1,500 nits at the most.
Samsung hasn’t specified exactly how bright the QN90F is, but we can be sure that it’s almost certainly going to be much brighter than that number, especially as rivals like Hisense and TCL have released several models that can reach more than 4,000 nits.
The QN90F also features a “Glare Free” design to help eliminate those annoying reflections in bright rooms, as well as the company’s most advanced NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, enabling features such as Supersize Picture Enhancer to optimise the on-screen pictures, so that “bigger doesn’t mean blurrier”, the company explained. That tech is necessary, because TVs of such humongous sizes inevitably have much bigger pixels, especially when they’re not 8K resolution models. The QN90F only goes up to 4K.
Other features include Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Technology Pro and 4K Upscaling Pro tech, which help with more precise lighting control and upscaling lower-resolution content, respectively. There’s also Samsung’s Neo Quantum HDR Pro tech, which optimises the colour accuracy in real-time, and Auto HDR Remastering Pro for transforming standard dynamic range content into something that feels more like HDR.
Gamers looking for an immersive experience will likely be more than satisfied with the QN90F, which boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and Motion Xcelerator and AI Motion Enhancer Pro functionality to ensure super-sharp pictures even at breathtaking speeds. On the sound side, the TV boasts a powerful sound system made up of Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers and Object Tracking Sound+, a technology that synchronises the audio with the on-screen action.
As with all of Samsung’s TVs, the QN90F runs the Tizen operating system, which provides access to all of the major streaming apps and now comes with a guaranteed seven-years worth of upgrades.
Samsung said the QN90F is available to buy in the U.S. now, priced at a cool $26,999. That’s around £19,940 in U.K. money – not cheap by any means, but pretty competitive for the supersize TV segment.
