Xiaomi's massive new 4K Mini-LED TV is ridiculously cheap... In China

Xiaomi has announced what could well be the most cost-competitive, premium-level 98-inch Mini-LED TV to hit the market so far, combining high-end specifications with an unbelievably low price tag.

It’s called the Xiaomi S Pro Mini LED TV 2026, and its specifications are more or less the same as Hisense’s flagship U.K. model, the U8Q, yet it costs less than half the price – at least, in China. According to NotebookCheck, which first spotted it, it's priced at just ¥15,999, which translates to just ₤1,690. In contrast, the 100-inch Hisense U8Q costs a staggering £5,299.

By anyone’s book, that makes the S Pro Mini LED TV incredibly cheap, but we should bear in mind that just because Xiaomi is selling it at that price in its home nation, it doesn't mean it’ll do so in other markets. It’ll need to factor in the costs of shipping and overheads, and if it reaches the U.S. market, it’ll also need to consider the cost of President Donald Trump’s heavy tariffs. So don’t expect it to be quite so cheap elsewhere. But nonetheless, given the specifications, it’s still pretty amazing that the company can ask for so little.

According to Xiaomi’s product page, the S Pro Mini LED TV has a peak brightness of 5,700 nits, while it features 3,864 local dimming zones for enhanced contrast. The 4K panel has a 165Hz refresh rate, and it can also display content at lower resolution when it’s being used for gaming, so users will be able to crank it up to 330Hz. With its support for Variable Refresh Rates and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, that makes it one hell of an interesting alternative to some of the higher-end gaming monitors that have recently been launched.

It doesn’t stop there. Xiaomi says the S Pro Mini LED TV has support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, along with three HDMI 2.1 ports and a couple of USB 2 and USB 3 connections as well. There’s a nice, minimalist remote control that looks similar to the Apple TV 4K’s, and Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are also mentioned.

The audio specifications are impressive too, with the TV boasting a seven-speaker system with a 2.1.2-channel configuration that’s powered by Harman AudioEFX, capable of pumping out AI-enhanced sound. The TV is powered by the same XM900 processor that was seen in the company’s 2025 flagship models, and from the promotional materials, there seems to be some kind of art mode, similar to Samsung’s The Frame TV.

The Xiaomi S Pro Mini LED TV looks very impressive on paper, especially at that price point, but the question is – will it launch in global markets, and if so, at what cost? We know that Xiaomi does sell some models globally, but its international selection is not nearly as wide as the one it offers in its home market. So it’s possible, but not guaranteed. Fingers crossed it will not only do so, but also try to mirror its pricing strategy and undercut the likes of TCL and Hisense by a wide margin.
