LG's 2026 OLED TVs: Brighter, ultra-thin and a C6 double-act

LG Electronics is stepping it up in its never-ending battle with Samsung for dominance in the OLED TV segment, announcing a new slate of TVs for 2026 that’s led by the OLED evo G6 model.

The LG OLED evo G6 boasts even higher brightness than last year’s G5 and a superior chipset, as well as lower screen reflectivity. In addition, it will be the first TV in the world to support 120Hz cloud gaming and feature ultra-low latency Bluetooth controller connectivity.

The higher brightness stems from the all-new Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel found on the G6, which is an advanced version of the Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel that debuted in the G5 last year. It features a new enhancement called “Hyper Radiant Colour” that extends the high brightness benefits to additional factors including colour and contrast.

There’s also a new Brightness Booster Ultra feature in the LG OLED evo G6 that increases its brightness by 20% compared to the G5. Meanwhile, the “Reflection Free Premium” technology allows the display to showcase perfect blacks in both light and dark viewing conditions with less than 0.5% screen reflectance, essentially eliminating the impact of ambient light.

Further aiding the G6’s performance in bright viewing conditions is the new Ambient Filmmaker Mode setting, which uses an internal sensor found in the TV to detect the level of sunlight in the room and make adjustments to the picture to ensure optimal viewing.

Gamers will be absolutely enthusiastic about getting their hands on the OLED evo G6, for its maxed out for video gaming performance. As well as 4K 165Hz support, there’s Nvidia G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro, as well as a new Motion Booster function that accelerates the refresh rate to a staggering 330Hz at 1080p resolution. As mentioned, it also supports 120Hz gaming at 4K via GeForce Now.

Sitting, or rather, hanging alongside the OLED evo G6 is the new W6 “Wallpaper TV”, which is essentially the same TV housed in a thinner 9.9 millimetre body. It comes with LG’s Zero Connect box for wireless connectivity, and a special wall mount that enables it to sit flush against the wall, much like a picture frame.

It looks stunning, and in LG’s imagery we can see how the super-thinness allows it to blend into any living room aesthetic when switched into “ambient mode”, where it displays various works of art, much like today’s “gallery TVs” do. Apart from the design, it’s the same as the OLED evo G6, meaning it comes with the latest Tandem WOLED panel and delivers 165Hz gaming at 4K resolution.

LG C6 comes in two styles

LG has decided to split its popular C-series OLED TV into two distinct versions – the standard LG C6 and the all-new LG C6H.

The C6H OLED appears to be the superior of the two for two reasons. Firstly, because it’s the biggest, only available in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, and most importantly, because it comes with the Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel found on last year’s G5, which should mean it’s significantly brighter than the regular C6.

As for the LG C6 OLED TV, this will come with a second-generation OLED panel featuring Multi-Lens Array or MLA technology, which can’t match the newer panels for brightness, but is still far superior to traditional OLED. LG said it will come in 42-, 48-, 55- and 65-inch sizes.

In addition, both C6 models will get LG’s latest Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3, which is also found in the G6 and W6 TVs, as well as the company’s first RGB LED TV, which was announced late last year. That should mean enhanced picture processing smarts and more advanced AI-driven features in store.

Many of them can be found in the new AI Hub within the webOS platform, which is the home of new features such as AI Search and AI Concierge, powered by services including Microsoft Copilot and Gemini. There’s also a new AI Genre TruMotion feature that’s designed to fix judder issues for different types of content genres, such as sports and action movies, plus an AI Super Upscaling feature that improves the resolution and enhances the image quality of movies and shows.

The AI Sound Pro feature that debuted in last year’s G5 now finds its way to the G6, providing a virtual 11.1.2-channel sound mixing experience, though just like last year, it seems DTS sound is unsupported on this year’s OLED TVs.

LG also said it’s going to launch a B6 OLED TV this year, its entry-level model, but offered no details on what to expect from it. Besides announcing sizes of the LG C6, it did not reveal what sizes will be available for other models, including the G6 and W6.

2026 QNED TVs and more

It’s important to remember that LG is much more than just an OLED TV company, and in addition to its new RGB LED TV, it’s also set to launch a slate of Mini-LED models later this year. These fall within its QNED TV range, and they’ll be available in sizes up to a beastly 115-inches, the company said. The 2026 QNED TVs will be powered by the Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen 3 and come with LG’s Dynamic QNED Colour Pro technology.

Elsewhere, there’s the all-new LG Gallery TV that was revealed a couple of days ago, designed to compete with Samsung’s iconic The Frame TV. It’s paired with LG’s new Gallery+ subscription service, which provides access to a library of over 5,000 artworks. Users can also display their own work or use the Gemini AI tool to create something via natural language prompts.
