Xgimi sub-brand Vibe debuts fun and friendly Vibe One projector

Xgimi is launching a new sub-brand called Vibe that’s going to be focused on low-cost, portable projectors that are easy to set up, and it’s getting the ball rolling with its first product, the Vibe One.

The new company said the Vibe One is an affordable lantern projector that can transform any space into a cinema or social hub, and it’s aimed to be extremely easy for anyone to use. “Projectors should spark joy, not disappointment,” said Vibe Chairman Apollo Zhong. “With Vibe One, we’re giving users a product that’s simple, fun, and dependable, while still carrying the design DNA XGIMI is known for."

The launch of Vibe and its first projector seems to be a significant milestone in the evolution of Xgimi, which first emerged in 2019 when it debuted the pocket-sized MoGo Projector on Indiegogo. In its early years, the company was exclusively focused on designing affordable, battery-powered projectors that could be taken anywhere, but it began to expand its horizons in 2021 when it launched the bigger, but still portable 4K Horizon Pro.

Since then, Xgimi has produced an expanded lineup of increasingly powerful projectors, including ultra-short-throw models like the Xgimi Aura, and these days it’s taking on the big boys with its professional home cinema products. Most recently, at IFA 2025 last month, it debuted the Xgimi Horizon 20 Max, boasting a RBG triple-laser light source that can pump out an incredible 5,700 ISO lumens, and the Xgimi Titan, aimed at commercial settings, capable of hitting 5,000 ISO lumens.

With Xgimi clearly trying to establish itself as a very serious player, it makes sense that it may want to differentiate its more affordable, lower-end products, hence the decision to create a sub-brand. Vibe will become the home of its entry-level products, and says it wants to give consumers who’ve never owned a projector before the opportunity to see how fun and useful they can be without having to break the bank.

That explains why the Vibe One is priced at just $269 (around ₤200) on its website, though it’s offering those who pre-order before it ships a discounted $199 price tag. For that, you’ll get a funky looking canister-style device that’s able to beam out 1080p images at a maximum size of 150-inches. It comes with a battery for portability, though with only a one-hour lifetime, you’ll probably need a power bank or two if you aim to use it in a location without a power source.

Because it’s affordable, the Vibe One isn’t that powerful. The company said it reaches 205 ISO lumens brightness, which means you’ll have to do your utmost to block out any sunlight if you want to watch during the daytime, or else just wait until the sun sets. Other specifications include a 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and features that promise to simplify setting things up, including autofocus, keystone correction and digital zoom. That’s in line with the company’s promise of making things simple, fun, and dependable, we suppose.

The device comes with an integrated 160-degree gimbal stand that enhances set up flexibility, so you’ll be able to just plonk it down and swivel it around to where you want to beam the picture. The design also makes it useful as a warm, eight-colour night light that sits on the bedside table.

The Google TV operating system is baked in and supports Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, so users will be able to stream official Netflix and content from other services, such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. There’s a single HDMI port for hooking up a physical media source or a console, though it’s unlikely to provide the best gaming experience.

Sound is supplied by a pair of 3-watt JBL speakers built into the device, and Dolby Audio is there to deliver “rich, room-filling audio”. It can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker, and voice search and screen mirroring capabilities are there too.
