Samsung has become the official TV, monitor, Wi-Fi speaker and soundbar partner of the U.S. video game publisher Activision’s hugely anticipated game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
What’s interesting about this partnership is that Samsung isn’t simply just trying to seed the idea of buying its products in the minds of Call of Duty fans, but also giving them something in return. For instance, they will be able to get early beta access to the latest installment of the world’s most successful video game franchise via codes distributed through the Samsung Promotion App prior to the launch of its open beta.
They’ll also get the chance to play the game on Samsung’s high-end Odyssey monitors at the upcoming Gamescom 2026 event, which takes place prior to the game’s release on October 23, so long as they attend. And finally, if they do buy a Samsung TV or monitor to play the game, they’ll also be able to experience it in all the glory of Samsung’s HDR10+ high dynamic range format, which promises to make it all the more realistic.
That last tidbit is probably the most enticing reason to want to rush out and grab yourself a Samsung TV or monitor, if you’re a Call of Duty enthusiast. By integrating HDR10+ Gaming into Modern Warfare 4, players will enjoy much more “accurate colour and contrast, supporting the immersive visual experience that reflects the creative intent of the developers,” Samsung promised.
Samsung confirmed that its full range of 2026 TVs and monitors can support HDR10+ gaming, so you don’t need to buy one of its high-end models. However, it may be worthwhile shelling out on one of its QD-OLED Samsung Odyssey 9 monitors nonetheless, for Modern Warfare 4 will also be one of the first games that officially supports the 32:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio, ensuring that gamers can experience a “broader sense of space” when playing the game.
“Partnering with Samsung allows us to showcase the game with clarity, scale and responsiveness that complement the intensity at the heart of Call Of Duty,” said Activision’s head of partnerships Cody Neal.
Before the game is released, Samsung TV owners will be able to watch a special livestreamed event called Call of Duty: NEXT through the Samsung Gaming Hub app, which will reveal more about the game. It's set to broadcast on August 21 at 9 a.m. PT, or 6 p.m. BST. As for the Samsung Promotion app beta early access codes, they’ll be distributed to select players via the app between August 21 and August 25, meaning they’ll have up to a week to hone their skills ahead of the open beta that kicks off on August 28.
As for Gamescom, where attendees will be able to play Modern Warfare 4 on Samsung’s latest and best Odyssey 9 monitors in HDR10+, it’s a five-day event that takes place in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to August 30.
